“In my coaching session, Mary advised I have 3 achievable goals relating to performance, image, and visibility. Not just have them but intentionally work on them quarterly. This has allowed me to focus on specific goals at a time, whilst seeing the end results and rewards. One of her recommendations was wearing heels to help overcome the ‘small girl syndrome’ in the workplace. For a second I did not see the difference that could make but I thought to give it a try. I have seen a boost in my self-confidence, the way I carry myself, as well as the response from others. Making this little change has also been a great conversation starter at work. One Saturday in September, I got the opportunity to talk to Mary Mosope Adeyemi. We discussed self-awareness, confidence, major decisions people have to make, serendipity, and the importance of Acting Big especially when you are a woman. It was just a call, but Mary understood so many things about me. Every single piece of advice she gave me was personalized. On top of being inspiring and humble, Mary has powerful words. I can't imagine how lucky I was to talk to her. A few days after our call and after having finished the books she recommended me, I started understanding more deeply some of her words.
