Secure The Bag Workshop
“The presentation and workshop were of high quality, detailed, and amazing. There is nothing in each stage of getting a new job which wasn't touched. I feel equipped with some new nuggets to make the changes to my CV and LinkedIn profile. Some great tools provided to get to know yourself, with this information I can use the assessments to better describe my strengths and qualities. I also feel equipped to attend interviews confidently, with a new view about what they want and most importantly how to give winning answers.”

Secure The Bag Workshop
“The session was really great and Mary went above and beyond my expectations. The best workshop I have been in that where I have actually learned something that I can use and would help me. I loved the practical tips Mary had and the break out sessions. I loved that she made us her teachings put into practice and she provided feedback from her. I now feel confident and have better clarity on how to make my CV stand out and communicate my values.”

“During the workshop, we were divided into breakout rooms to practice interview questions and discuss actions that we have taken that have resulted in an achievement. This experience was interesting because I learned how to tell my story from my CV. The workshop was perfect and well structured.”

“In my coaching session, Mary advised I have 3 achievable goals relating to performance, image, and visibility. Not just have them but intentionally work on them quarterly. This has allowed me to focus on specific goals at a time, whilst seeing the end results and rewards. One of her recommendations was wearing heels to help overcome the ‘small girl syndrome’ in the workplace. For a second I did not see the difference that could make but I thought to give it a try. I have seen a boost in my self-confidence, the way I carry myself, as well as the response from others. Making this little change has also been a great conversation starter at work. I look forward to exploring the other goals and seeing the significant changes that come along.”

“As a young Black woman raised in Africa and now living in a Western country, I struggle to find inspiring Black women who take the time to share their experience, their concerns, and their advice. One Saturday in September, I got the opportunity to talk to Mary Mosope Adeyemi. We discussed self-awareness, confidence, major decisions people have to make, serendipity, and the importance of Acting Big especially when you are a woman. It was just a call, but Mary understood so many things about me. Every single piece of advice she gave me was personalized. On top of being inspiring and humble, Mary has powerful words. I can't imagine how lucky I was to talk to her. A few days after our call and after having finished the books she recommended me, I started understanding more deeply some of her words. Talking to Mary was very helpful to me. It filled me with strength. I can only think of a quote: "A moment's insight is sometimes worth a life's experience." (Oliver Wendell Holmes). This call, the introspection, and the weeks that followed definitely shaped an insightful experience. I thank you one more time for your availability.”

“The diversity of the panel was excellent. The combination of a previous intern, HR rep, and a current senior person in a firm with experience managing interns was very effective. This allowed us to see different perspectives on the same issue that we may not have otherwise gotten. Powerpoint slides were also well made and very clear - with recordings provided at the end which I am grateful for.”

“The webinar and accompanying slides were great. I’ve attended many webinars with the similar aim of giving us advice and guidance but never from an intern manager and HR perspective. Also having an all-black female speaker panel warms my heart because it shows me that I can do it too”

Acing your virtual Internship Workshop
“We were able to gain insight from a variety of perspectives i.e. an ED, an HR perspective, and also from someone who has successfully undergone several internships. I think it is invaluable to be able to hear directly from an Executive Director on their expectations/what they think makes a successful intern. By the end of this webinar, I really felt that I had a clear idea regarding what I should gain from my internship and actually how to make the most of it for myself! I feel that I now know how to approach tasks in the sense of asking "what does good look like here?" and also feedback-wise at the end. Thank you for allowing us to take screenshots of your slides and for providing an opportunity to submit questions prior to the webinar.”

“Out of curiosity of what the credit system is like, what models worked in the past, what to look out for, and what to be worried about. I randomly reached out to Mary Mosope Adeyemi over LinkedIn while we (my Cofounder and I) were preparing to launch "Evolve Credit" a "point of sale credit offering service". I was particularly curious about questions I could not answer and my conversation over a WhatsApp call with Mary brought a lot of context to what we were trying to do at Evolve Credit. Our 45 minutes call is comparable to a Credit 101 course (if it exists). Thanks again!”

“Thanks again for taking the time out to meet up with me today. I also appreciated your advice regarding building strong relationships in the workplace by showing that I care. And I'll be sure to take on your advice regarding points to consider when making decisions on how to move forward in my career, more specifically asking myself 'why' I have made a decision to stay/leave a role and setting clear targets/goals to look forward to.”
