Corporate Seminar: Team Management/Coaching
“Mary gave an excellent session that taught our alumni community not only about the ins and outs of team management but also gave an excellent example of how to grow as a young professional through her own experience. Our alumni community especially appreciated this personal touch. The session achieved its goals and received positive reception from all involved. Thanks for everything Mary, it was a pleasure working with you and I will be sure to suggest you as a speaker for other programs at our organization.”

SEO London Lunch & Learn Session: From SEO Alum to Goldman Sachs Executive Director
Hi Mary,
Thank you again for hosting such a fab session, your talk was insightful and full of actionable tips and strategies that our students can utilise. The fact that we had so many questions was a testament to how useful and thought-provoking it was to the students.
I’ve included some of the feedback:
I truly enjoyed the event and particularly Mary's down-to-earth personality despite being an executive director at one of the largest financial organisations in the world. Her approach to explaining complex concepts related to her career in simple terms for students to understand and maintaining a positive and bubbly energy throughout the event has made the experience even more enjoyable from a viewer's perspective. Once again proving that the high finance industry is filled with ambitious individuals with great personalities and willingness to share some real insights. I learnt to stay open-minded and view internship opportunities as exploratory ways to find out my true passion after attending this session and will be taking all the incredible insights and advice Mary gave when going for interviews and assessment centres. Thank you to the SEO team for organising this engaging and insightful event!
Mary gave incredibly insightful advice on her career progression and her role at GS. Mary was very honest as well - she decided that investment banking was not for her because she needs a lot of sleep! Overall, I really like her energy and thoroughly enjoyed this session.
I liked the in-depth coverage of the credit risk management role and the identification of the skills it takes to succeed within it. Very inspiring journey too.
I found the session exceptionally engaging, I was especially inspired by the journey of the speaker, and how she managed to weave in the technical, and story aspects of her career. I also love how she was giving both general skills and corporate skills, whilst also balancing with a healthy lifestyle. Also, she mentioned of how to generate value and master 1 skill and prioritise one thing at a time. It was really engaging and really would have loved for it to be longer.
I loved the presentation, she covered every key point and this led for really interesting questions afterwards. I was really inspired by the drive that she seems to have had from an early age going to university at 16 for example!

University of Birmingham: UoBe Festival 2023
“You delivered a fantastic session on cultivating confidence. You shared your own stories and experiences, along with helpful theory and practical tips. The student were really engaged with the session. Although we started late due to tech issues, and the session ran over, all the students stayed to the end, asked some interesting questions in the Q&A, and even stayed behind to chat further. They were obviously captivated by your energy and enthusiasm. Amazing!
Students provided feedback on the session. They rated the activity as 5 out of 5. This is what they enjoyed most:
1. The speaker broke down everything to make it easy to understand. Additionally, it was very reflective and informative
2. How lovely and personal Mary was. She genuinely cared and was so thoughtful and honest
3. Mary's energy, inspiration and guidance!
4. Detailed disassembly of unconfident behaviour and practical step-by-step advice”

“Mary has a wealth of knowledge on how students as well as professionals can navigate challenging circumstances to maximise their career progression, having overcome challenges herself and succeeded during the 2018/19 global credit crunch when Mary was breaking into the industry. The entire SEO team were grateful for Mary's input, and felt that the session was highly informative and timely for students having to cope with the challenges of Covid while studying and also trying to break into the industry. Corporate Workshop: Being an entrepreneur in your 9-5
“We had the pleasure of working with Mary for our "Building Your Hustle" webinar for students aged 14 - 18. Mary led a fantastic session on being an entrepreneur in your 9-5, and students commented that they were extremely "inspired" by Mary's CARAT analogy and her success as a black woman. Mary was a real pleasure to work with and went above and beyond for Doceo Tuition students by providing fantastic information and presenting it to the students in an engaging and informative way. Mary is professional at communicating her availability and meeting deadlines. We would be more than happy to work with Mary again.”

MarketFinance Limited: Black History Month 2020
“Mary's honesty was really helpful for us as a company to take on her personal views regarding how we should thrive for equality throughout the whole company and not just e.g. meet quota by having a representative of each ethnicity within the leadership team. We need to make a change from the bottom top in addition to having the top of a company vocalise and show their support of equality. The company were very grateful for the opportunity to hear you speak. It was extremely engaging and powerful to hear such honesty about your own experiences which made it very personal and resonated well within the company.”

The ‘Visible Strengths’ Program
“Mary's energy is electric! - She has a lot of positive energy and that was definitely encouraging especially as our classes were on a Monday evening after a hard start of the week. Also, joining a room full of bright women and a huge smile from Mary ready to start the session, very energetic, creating room to raise our hands for questions, sharing our personal experiences with the wider group, getting advice from Mary but also learning from the experiences of others was extremely insightful and worthwhile.”
The ‘Visible Strengths’ Program
“The quality of the different documents and worksheets shared made realised the time and resources that have been invested. They are very useful and helpful - this in itself motivated me to also invest and really do bring my whole self to the sessions (contribute) in order to make the most of each of them.”
The ‘Visible Strengths’ Program
“Joining this program has been the best decision I've made. I have learned things that would have taken me years to discover through trial and error. I have every confidence that if I implement and practice the advice I have learned, I will be accelerating my career by several years. That's pretty damn good value for two and a half hours of time.”
The ‘Visible Strengths’ Program
“Mary's personal stories and the anecdotes shared within the group were so useful and are one of my favourite parts of these sessions. At the end of the session, I just felt overwhelmed with gratitude to be a part of this group of women and the discussions we were having. I know I’m going to come back to the lessons I’m learning in this space for years to come.”
The ‘Visible Strengths’ Program
“Knowing my strengths increased my confidence which has helped me in the work I do. Leveraging the different experiences that were shared during the workshop, I was motivated to write up proposals and show to different stakeholders on the different things that may be considered in relation to my role which was well received. I am now becoming a point of reference for certain matters/conversations within my graduate community. People are now becoming aware of my interests and value-add and now inviting me to contribute and share. I feel very happy about that!”
The ‘Visible Strengths’ Program
“This program was a reminder I needed to dream BIGGER again. This ignited a spark of my younger self that had an abundance of confidence that's been battered along the way, but mindset is everything - if I don't believe that I can, then I certainly won't. This program has given me the framework and the tools to help me get serious again about my goal setting. I desperately needed this”
The ‘Visible Strengths’ Program
“I feel really motivated. I love the fact that this course isn't just a casual zoom chat once a week. There has been so much thought that has gone into the pre-work tasks, the in-depth slides and the corresponding workbooks for each session. Because so much work has gone into this, I now feel even more compelled to reach the current bar that has been set and put the work in from my end too”.
The ‘Visible Strengths’ Program
“I feel empowered to focus on developing my strengths further, rather than viewing it as ‘not trying’ because it’s not an investment in my weaknesses. Investing in my strengths can get me an even greater return than investing in my weaknesses and this is something really powerful I learned from Mary.”
Secure The Bag Workshop
“All the bonus resources that were provided after the workshop such as the workbook, masterclass presentation, reaching out, and follow-up templates were an excellent touch. It helped consolidate everything that was learned in the session and was really helpful. I also enjoyed the break out sessions as I found talking through examples with others out in the open made you pick up on things you may not have noticed before and actually see how you could improve your answers.”

Bonus materials were provided, as well as additional web links to refer to after the workshop. Being able to ask questions as we went along was so useful. “The presentation and workshop were of high quality, detailed, and amazing. There is nothing in each stage of getting a new job which wasn't touched. I feel equipped with some new nuggets to make the changes to my CV and LinkedIn profile. Some great tools provided to get to know yourself, with this information I can use the assessments to better describe my strengths and qualities. I also feel equipped to attend interviews confidently, with a new view about what they want and most importantly how to give winning answers.”

“The session was really great and Mary went above and beyond my expectations. The best workshop I have been in that where I have actually learned something that I can use and would help me. I loved the practical tips Mary had and the break out sessions. I loved that she made us her teachings put into practice and she provided feedback from her. I now feel confident and have better clarity on how to make my CV stand out and communicate my values.”

1 - 1 Coaching Feedback
“In my coaching session, Mary advised I have 3 achievable goals relating to performance, image, and visibility. Not just have them but intentionally work on them quarterly. This has allowed me to focus on specific goals at a time, whilst seeing the end results and rewards. One of her recommendations was wearing heels to help overcome the ‘small girl syndrome’ in the workplace. For a second I did not see the difference that could make but I thought to give it a try. I have seen a boost in my self-confidence, the way I carry myself, as well as the response from others. Making this little change has also been a great conversation starter at work. I look forward to exploring the other goals and seeing the significant changes that come along.”

1 - 1 Coaching Feedback
“As a young Black woman raised in Africa and now living in a Western country, I struggle to find inspiring Black women who take the time to share their experience, their concerns, and their advice. One Saturday in September, I got the opportunity to talk to Mary Mosope Adeyemi. We discussed self-awareness, confidence, major decisions people have to make, serendipity, and the importance of Acting Big especially when you are a woman. It was just a call, but Mary understood so many things about me. Every single piece of advice she gave me was personalized. On top of being inspiring and humble, Mary has powerful words. I can't imagine how lucky I was to talk to her. A few days after our call and after having finished the books she recommended me, I started understanding more deeply some of her words. Talking to Mary was very helpful to me. It filled me with strength. I can only think of a quote: "A moment's insight is sometimes worth a life's experience." (Oliver Wendell Holmes). This call, the introspection, and the weeks that followed definitely shaped an insightful experience. I thank you one more time for your availability.”

Acing your virtual internship Workshop
“The diversity of the panel was excellent. The combination of a previous intern, HR rep, and a current senior person in a firm with experience managing interns was very effective. This allowed us to see different perspectives on the same issue that we may not have otherwise gotten. Powerpoint slides were also well made and very clear - with recordings provided at the end which I am grateful for.”

Acing your virtual internship Workshop
“The webinar and accompanying slides were great. I’ve attended many webinars with the similar aim of giving us advice and guidance but never from an intern manager and HR perspective. Also having an all-black female speaker panel warms my heart because it shows me that I can do it too”
Danielle, London UK
Acing your virtual Internship Workshop
“We were able to gain insight from a variety of perspectives i.e. an ED, an HR perspective, and also from someone who has successfully undergone several internships. I think it is invaluable to be able to hear directly from an Executive Director on their expectations/what they think makes a successful intern. By the end of this webinar, I really felt that I had a clear idea regarding what I should gain from my internship and actually how to make the most of it for myself! I feel that I now know how to approach tasks in the sense of asking "what does good look like here?" and also feedback-wise at the end. Thank you for allowing us to take screenshots of your slides and for providing an opportunity to submit questions prior to the webinar.”
